Things To Do

York Maze
York maze is an a-mazing day out for the whole family. The attraction is based around a giant maze, made from maize plants. With over 20 different rides and attractions, the kids will be kept busy for the whole day! Adults: £13.50, Children £12.50, Under 3’s Free.

The Botanical Gardens
Sheffield Botanical Gardens is a 19 acre garden, originally designed by Robert Marnock. The site contains the largest collection of listed buildings in a Sheffield garden and many other interesting features. The Gardens are a great resource for both the enthusiast and the beginner. The Gardens host many events and tours, of interest for the novice and specialist alike. Free.

Wentworth Castle Gardens
The estate’s Grade 1 landscape and formal gardens are nationally significant for their extensive monuments, housing some of the earliest gothic follies in the country. It is operated by an independent charitable trust – the Wentworth Castle and Stainborough Park Heritage Trust, which was established in 2001. Adults £6.95, Children, £3.50, under 2’s Free.

Beverley Minister
Beverley Minster is the Parish Church of St. John and St. Martin. John, bishop of York, founded a monastery on the site where Beverley Minster stands. Building work began in 1220 and was completed in 1425. Today the church is still a place of pilgrimage for visitors. It also continues to be a place of prayer and worship at the heart of the community. Free.

National Railway Museum
Get up close to over 300 years of fascinating history in York’s only National Museum. Explore the giant halls full of trains and railway legends including the majestic Duchess of Hamilton, step on to the futuristic, Japanese Bullet Train or marvel at the stunning opulence of the Royal Trains.
