Northern Ireland is a spectacular place to visit and offers a fascinating mix of things to do from magnificent historic sites and monuments to the stunning coastline and natural landscape.

Giant’s Causeway is one of the most famous attractions in Northern Ireland and it is the country’s only UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was formed 60 million years ago due to a volcanic eruption and there are many myths and legends attached to it.

Other historic sites include Carrickfergus which was once Ireland’s most formidable stronghold and Enniskillen Castle which is now Fermanagh County Museum and Inniskillen Museum. Or why not take a trip to Devenish Monastic Site, which was founded in the 6th century and is one of Lough Erne’s many islands. The site is home to ruins from different periods in time with the earliest ruin being St Molasie House, a small church, and a tower that was built in the 12th century.

Northern Ireland is the perfect destination for a country escape and the Mountains of Mourne are perfect for not just walking but mountain biking, fishing and much more. The area is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is home to 12 mountains that rise above 2,000ft and has North Ireland’s highest peak – Slieve Donard.
