Their restaurant serves a great selection of comfort food, from sharing plates, pub classics, burgers, sides, and indulgent desserts. They also offer meal deals with a drink, a set two or three course menu, good choices for children and guests with dietary requirements, and on Sunday a popular roast.
Their well-stocked bar has views of the harbour, and serves a brilliant range of real ales, beers, wines, gins, cocktails, mixers, and soft drinks. Guests can also enjoy a Yorkshire afternoon tea, whilst admiring their historic collection of photos and memorabilia.
The Duke of York has eight recently refurbished en-suite bedrooms, comprising of a mix of double, superior double, twin, and family rooms. Each room comes with complimentary toiletries, luggage storage, a TV, kettle, hairdryer, Nespresso coffee machine and WiFi access.
Breakfast is a real treat and includes either a full English or continental options.
They welcome dogs, with dog friendly stays charged at a nominal additional fee per dog, per night with prior acknowledgement in four of their rooms.
There is no parking at the pub due to their harbour location, however Church Street car park is a short stroll away.
Whitby has two beaches and is one of the few places in the UK where you can watch the sun rise and set over the sea in summer. The harbour has glorious views, fishing and pleasure boats, and amusement arcades.
