The Tan Hill Inn sits on the doorstep of the Pennine Way, the first national trail in England and one of the most famous walks in the country.
Their delicious menus are short and concise and feature hearty pub classics, homemade Tan Hill pies, chefs’ specials, giant Yorkshire puddings, delicious desserts and good choices for guests with dietary requirements. Their Sunday lunch is extremely popular and there is also a menu for children.
They support local breweries and their bar is well-stocked with the best ales from the dales, and an eclectic range of bottled ciders, spirits, wines and soft drinks.
The Tan Hill Inn has nine classically decorated en-suite bedrooms, comprising of double, twin, premier and family rooms. Their two family rooms sleep four and six guests, and additional beds can be added to other rooms if required.
Each room comes with comfortable beds, a TV, tea & coffee making facilities and WiFi access. A hearty Yorkshire breakfast is served daily.
Dogs are welcome on request, with prior acknowledgement directly with the pub for a nominal nightly surcharge in many of their bedrooms, and one room is located on the ground floor.
There is ample parking, and motorhomes and campers are welcome, for a concessionary charge which goes to charity.
They were the first pub in England to hold a wedding licence, the crime drama Vera has been filmed at the pub and they are also a live music venue.
The Tan Hill Inn is a haven for walkers and cyclists and there are always a smattering of guests from the Arts, Music, Film and Theatre world.
