Like the West Midlands, the East has a wealth of glorious countryside and interesting towns to be explore. The region is made up of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottingham and is home to the breathtaking Peak District National Park.

If you are looking to escape the monotony of everyday life for a few days then a trip to the Peak District in Derbyshire is a must. It is the place to go if you are a keen rambler as there are plenty of walking trails to explore including the long distance Pennine Way and the Derwent Valley Heritage Way. However, if you just want to walk for a few miles don’t worry, there are miles of footpaths that pass through the national park allowing you to experience the National Park at your own speed.

The East Midlands is home to some fantastic attractions including the National Space Centre, Creswell Crags and Chatsworth House.  The mesmerising Chatsworth House is home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and dates back to the 11th century. The House contains works of art that span 4,000 years from ancient Roman and Egyptian sculpture, together with famous artworks from the likes of Rembrandt, Reynolds and Veronese.  Chatsworth House sits on 105 acres of land and gardens.
