For a classic pub stay, choose from Cosy, Comfortable and Spacious rooms, each individually styled and designed with comfort in mind. For something with a little more character, the Farmhouse rooms are tucked away in an annexe beside the inn. Designed by the Duchess of Devonshire, these rooms feature handsome four-poster beds and generous en-suite bathrooms, giving them a suitably country-house feel while keeping you just a few steps from the pub. Selected rooms also welcome dogs (with prior acknowledgement), making it easy to bring four-legged companions along for a Peak District walking break.

Sitting on the Chatsworth Estate, the kitchen makes the most of what is grown, reared and produced nearby, with seasonal ingredients shaping a menu of hearty, well-made food. Breakfast sets you up nicely for a day exploring Chatsworth, followed by relaxed lunches and comforting evening dishes back at the pub. Sundays are particularly well suited to settling in for a traditional roast, preferably after a good walk through the surrounding estate.
