Visit Lincolnshire

There’s plenty of reasons why you should be planning to visit Lincolnshire. Lincolnshire is a county home to stunning countryside, coast and the bustling city of Lincoln.  The Lincolnshire coast is a lovely place to visit for the whole family, from fun on the beach to fish and chips to seaside attractions and rollercoasters.  Cleethorpes is a popular seaside resort on the estuary of the Humber in North East Lincolnshire.  Perfect for families, the seaside town has lots of attractions, such as rollercoasters and a vibrant pier.

Escape to the vast fields and rolling hills of the Lincolnshire countryside with a trip to The Wolds. This area of outstanding natural beauty boasts 216 square miles of unspoilt countryside and is surrounded by sleepy stone villages and cobbled streets in historic market towns.  Just a stone’s throw from Lincoln, you can explore the hidden valleys or meander through Lincolnshire’s charming hamlets. There is a lot of traditional agriculture in Lincolnshire, and this is seen through its award-winning tasty local produce, such as the county’s famous Lincolnshire sausages and cheese.

For those who love to stay active, the Lincolnshire Wolds has an abundance of outdoor pursuits. From hiking, biking, horse riding, climbing, to kayaking, there are so many fun activities to take part in whilst visiting the area. Walking is one of the most popular activities when exploring the Wolds, from gentle walks to serious treks along the 235Km Viking Way.  Every year Lincolnshire has the annual Lincolnshire Wolds Walking Festival, which attracts thousands of walkers from across the country. The event is one of the largest events in the UK and during the two-week festival, walkers can choose from over 100 different walks.  There are also lots of cycling routes for those who prefer to travel and take in the scenery on two wheels!
