There’s so many different routes around the island to enjoy walking in the Isle of Wight. The Isle of Wight is, like the Peak District and Lake District, one of the best places to walk with over 500 miles of footpaths taking walkers all across the island. The Isle of Wight is home to a variety of terrains and landscapes from quiet country lanes and open fields to cliff top coastal paths.

If you aren’t an experienced walker or just want to go on gentle walk through the Isle of Wight, there are plenty of walks under 10 miles including the Freshwater Way which is 5 miles long. If you want to learn about the region’s past whilst walking through it, there are also plenty of guided walks available where you can see some of the Isle of Wight’s most incredible wildlife and landscapes.

With so much to discover, why not stay in a pub when on a walking holiday in the Isle of Wight? In the evenings, pubs offer just that something extra; a sociable and lively environment that is at the heart of its community.
