There are so many things to do in East Riding of Yorkshire and we’ve compiled a short guide on what you can expect.
Hull
Hull has become an exciting city and offers visitors plenty of attractions. It’s a destination for shopping and entertainment with a eclectic nightlife and social atmosphere. As Hull is located on the coast there are some great maritime attractions where you can learn about Hull’s history and maritime heritage.
The most famous attraction in Hull is the incredible Humber Bridge that acts as the gateway to Hull. It’s definitely worth a visit to see the seventh longest bridge of its type in the world. Top attractions to visit when in Hull include The Deep, Burton Constable Hall and Humber Bridge Country Park.
Bridlington
Bridlington is great destination for a family holiday. There’s sandy beaches and the sea side town has plenty of attractions from funfairs and amusements. You’ll have a great day out!
Bridlington comes alive in the harbour with the mixture of fishing boats and fishermen, and boats taking cruises out onto the sea. If you want to discover the vast sea, North Sea expeditions are on offer to tourists.
If you are with the kids top attractions include Beside the Seaside and Bayside Pleasure Park, a small theme park right on the promenade. Or if you head just a bit further out of Bridlington, Sewerby Hall and Gardens is home to a museum, children’s zoo, pitch and putt, putting green, craft units and tearooms.
The Old Town of Bridlington is a worth a visit and remained unchanged for centuries. There are some great shops, boutiques, galleries and pubs that are full of charm and character.
Beverley
Beverley is one of Yorkshire’s most interesting towns and was once voted one of the best places to live in the UK. It’s home to Beverley Minster which is one of Europe’s greatest Gothic churches and has been around since the 13th Century.
Beverly has a great scene and lively and atmosphere and the Beverley Folk Festival is a great day out for all. The festivals’ programme is made up of music concerts, dance, comedy, film, literature, poetry, family events, food, real ale bar and so much more! It takes place over three nights and two days and has been going for 30 years.

The Wolds
The Wolds of Yorkshire are incredibly beautiful, and great to discover by foot or on two wheels. There are plenty of footpaths and country lanes to explore including Yorkshire Wolds National Trail. The trail is 79 miles and takes walkers through charming and picturesque villages as well as through the rolling hills and countryside.
When visiting The Wolds you can find great accommodation on offer in Inns and pubs where you can sit back and relax in comfort. Or if you not a keen walker there are plenty of stately homes to visit including the Elizabethan grandeur of Burton Agnes and Burton Constable and the Sledmere House.
Other areas to visit in East Yorkshire include Withernsea, Hornsea, Driffield, Market Weighton, Snaith and Cowick, Pocklington.
