It has become increasingly easy to get around Fife by bike, with the development of the Kingdom of Fife Cycle Ways, a network of over 300 miles of dedicated cycle routes along quiet country lanes, disused railway lines and forest tracks. For the committed touring cyclist is the 103 mile Kingdom Route circular between the Forth and Tay road bridges. This challenging route is ideal for keen cyclists and offers a mixture of on and off-road cycling. Along the way you will pass old mining towns, through the Cleish Hills, the historic town of St Andrews and Tentsmuir.

The 8 mile West Fife Cycle Way is a relatively flat off-road linear route which is suitable for both adults and children. Beginning in Dunfermline, this route follows a disused railway line with links into Devilla Forest where you will find circular routes in the picturesque Howe of Fife and in the East Neuk if you want to explore further. The Ports of Tay 29 mile route is also a popular with families. Beginning in Tayport, this route sweeps through the beautiful countryside and coastal land of Fife. You will pass through the villages of the Howe and the towns of the Firth of Tay before finishing at Tentsmuir Forest. Here you will find a number of off-road routes which allow you to explore the forest.
