If you want to discover an area that is steeped in history then a visit to Argyll and the Isles is a must. The area is known as the ‘birthplace of Scotland’ and at Dunnard Fort in Kilmartin Glen, visitors can discover where the ‘Scots’ settled from Ireland and later crowned the Dalriadic Kings in the 6th Century.

Argyll is situated on the west coast of Scotland and made up of rugged mainland and dramatic coastline. The Isles are made up of 25 uninhabited islands including Iona which is seen as Scotland’s ‘cradle of Christianity’. There is so much to see and do from visiting castles such as Inveraray Castle and Oban to watching the world’s most elite Highland Games – The Cowal Highland Gathering.
