The Compasses Inn retains many of its original features; an old flagstone floor, open inglenook fireplace and gorgeous wooden beams. Walking into The Compasses is like stepping back in time.
At the heart of the warm welcome that greets you at The Compasses Inn is their love of food, wine and beer. They believe passionately that good food does not need to be over complicated and they pride themselves on sourcing the finest ingredients and putting them to the best possible use. The wide ranging menu changes daily, with a keen eye on the seasons.
Their wine list perfectly complements their menus and there is a strong focus on European wines. Spoilt for choice with great local breweries, their beers tend to be sourced from the surrounding area, with Butcombe ale always on the bar, together with two rotated guest beers.
The Compasses Inn’s bedrooms consist of three doubles and a larger family room. All of their rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, wonderfully comfortable beds, lovely linen, WiFi and a television. Plum cottage has one double and two single bedrooms and is fully equipped with a kitchen and a cosy sitting room with a log burner.
