Cutty Sark is an award-winning tourist attraction in Greenwich, London. The ship is 150 years old and is the world’s only surviving extreme clipper ship – a long, narrow hull, a sharp bow which cuts through the waves rather riding atop.

Cutty Sark was launched in 1869 and its first maiden voyage was from London to Shanghai, where it brought back large quantities of tea. The ship was built for the China tea trade and throughout its lifetime, it carried approximately 10 million lbs of tea between 1870 and 1877.

Now a tourist attraction, Cutty Sark has survived heavy seas, war, neglect, obsolescence, fire and old age. Visitors can find out about the ship’s historic past, whilst exploring the captain’s quarters, top deck and Ship’s Wheel.
