History & Heritage

When it comes to exploring the past, Worcestershire is the place to visit. With fantastic and stunning stately homes and gardens, visitors have plenty of options on offer. Croome Court was a secret wartime air base, and now a Visitor Centre and is surrounded by parkland. Thousands of people lived and worked in Croome Court during the 1940s.

Another incredible house to visit is Witley Court & Gardens. In 1937 a devastating fire broke out and left the house in ruins. However, English Heritage has now restored the south garden and the East Parterre garden. The Woodland Walks in the North Park is home to many different species of tree and shrub from all over the world.

The county also has Worcestershire two arboreta – Arley Arboretum, which is one of the UK’s oldest arboretum’s, and the arboretum at Eastnor Castle. Both are great places to visit with the family and boast plenty of things to do for all ages.

Arts & Culture

Worcestershire is a region jam-packed with arts venues, workshops, theatres and concerts. For theatre lovers a must visit is to The Malvern Theatres, which offers top class performances and often hosts the first-run of shows before they go to the West End. Other theatres to visit include The Artrix Theatre in Bromsgrove and The Hive overlooks the River Severn.

As Worcestershire is home to many market towns, food and drink festivals have become regular events including The British Asparagus Festival in Evesham, the Pershore Plum Festival and the Tenbury Mistletoe Festival which is nationally renowned. Try some of Worcestershire’s tastiest food made from locally sourced ingredients. Or have a pint or two of the region’s finest cask ales!

There’s also plenty of music concerts, events and festivals. The most famous festival in Worcestershire is the Three Choirs Festival, held in August each year since the early 18th century and rotating between the three cathedral cities of Gloucester, Worcester and Hereford it is one of the world’s oldest classical choral music festivals.

Nature & Wildlife

There’s so much countryside to explore when visiting Worcestershire. The region boasts brilliant fields for walking, cycling and horse riding as well as plenty of golf courses!

Worcestershire is home to rivers and canals which are perfect for canoeing, kayaking, fishing. Or take a boat trip and explore the marvellous area on the water. The county is home to the largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in England and Wales – The Malvern Hills – at nearly 800 square miles and will not disappoint those visiting.
