There’s not many better ways to get to know this beautiful county than walking in Bedfordshire. With gorgeous countryside around Dunstable, the tranquil hills make it ideal to explore on foot. Climb Dunstable Downs and enjoy breath-taking views over the Chilterns area of outstanding natural beauty, on this circular walk in Whipsnade.

There are miles of footpaths crossing the chalk grasslands of the Downs. There are a number of interesting sites to discover including The Five Knolls, Whipsnade Heath and Whipsnade Tree Cathedral.

The Marston Vale Timberland Trail is a circular route through the beautiful Marston Vale in Bedfordshire. This walk passes Ampthill Park, Jackdaw Hill, Marston Mortaine and Stewartby Lake. You will also come across the fascinating English Heritage owned ruined house at Houghton, which is free to visit and commands excellent views of the surrounding area.
