‘The Langstrath’, a small local family run haven for walkers and lovers of the countryside, was built around 1590 as a miners cottage and has over the years been converted and extended to what it is today. They have 8 comfortable bedrooms all en-suite and boasting magnificent views of the surrounding Lakeland fells. Downstairs, there is a spacious lounge, as well as a cosy bar where residents and locals alike share tales of the days Lake District adventure. The restaurant serves excellent quality Lakeland dishes using only the finest local ingredients.
They care about the food and the service they provide. The menu is best described as traditional with a modern, rustic twist, whilst the philosophy is about quality, freshness and sourcing the produce as locally as possible.
The Langstrath has 8 guest bedrooms all of which are en-suite. The showers are powerful, the baths are large and there’s masses of hot water to ensure you enjoy a soak at the end of the day. The rooms are comfortably furnished and decorated in a simple, unfussy style. All rooms have tea and coffee facilities, clock, radio, hairdryer and also WiFi access if you feel the need to stay in touch. The Residents Lounge is very cosy with comfortable sofas and chairs and a variety of books and magazines to browse through.
