The Yan’s seven en-suite bistro bedrooms understand exactly what you need after a day on the fells: somewhere warm, comfortable and wonderfully easy to retreat to. Contemporary furnishings and colours inspired by the surrounding landscape give the rooms a distinctive Lake District feel, while windows and skylights draw your attention back to the mountains outside. Superking rooms can accommodate up to three guests and feature super king-size beds that can be configured to suit your stay. Deluxe Superking rooms offer more space and can sleep up to four, making them particularly suitable for families. Dogs are welcome in select rooms and self-catering cottages with prior acknowledgement.
If you would like a little more space and independence, The Yan’s accommodation extends beyond its seven bistro bedrooms to a collection of characterful self-catering cottages and two beautifully designed Lookouts. Food & Drink
Come with an appetite. The bistro is at the heart of life at The Yan and has built a reputation for the sort of food you really want after a day in the Lake District: generous, comforting and full of Cumbrian character, but with enough imagination to keep things interesting. Menus take their inspiration from the farm’s history and the surrounding landscape, bringing together rustic Cumbrian classics, nostalgic British favourites and more contemporary dishes. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are sourced locally wherever possible, including produce from the farm itself, so what arrives at the table feels firmly connected to this corner of the Lakes. The atmosphere is deliberately relaxed, welcoming everyone from walkers still rosy-cheeked from the fells to families gathering around the table for a special meal.
The Yan’s drinks menu has a strong local flavour, with Cumbrian beers from Tirril Brewery alongside a carefully chosen wine list and British spirits, including gins and whiskies from local distilleries. Cocktails change with the seasons, using homemade syrups, infusions and ingredients grown or foraged around Broadrayne Farm. There is also an excellent choice for non-alcoholic drinkers.
