The Tyacks Hotel has been welcoming guests since 1780. Constructed by Philip Vincent the main section of the hotel was originally called the King`s Head, indicating it was the most important inn or hotel. Around 1900 William Tyack purchased the inn and his family held the license for nearly 100 years, changing the name to Tyacks Hotel.
The Tyacks day starts with a light yet tasty continental breakfast of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries and yoghurts or treat yourself to a sizzling full Cornish breakfast. The tasteful menu offers a selection of homemade dishes that combine all of your classic favourites, along with a few of the chef’s modern dishes which can be found on the daily specials boards.
The restaurant and lounge bar combines the comfort of large bay windows, with the more formal yet inviting restaurant. Pleasant weather permitting, the hotel has a large beer garden where you can relax in the sunshine. They are pleased to cater for any function, large or small – whether a birthday, reunion, wedding or dinner party they will make sure every detail is taken care of.
Relax with a coffee on one of the cozy leather sofas by day or get into the spirit and try one of their delicious cocktails. The bar stocks an excellent selection of bottled beers, Cornish cider, soft drinks, an extensive selection of wines and local ales.
If you are visiting family in the area, are here on business or just on holiday, they have everything to make your stay comfortable and welcoming. All 15 en-suite bedrooms have a flatscreen TV, tea and coffee making facilities and everything you need for a good night’s sleep. They have a variety of rooms from singles, doubles and twins. Car parking and a laundry service is also available. Unfortunately there are no ground floor bedrooms and no lifts in the building; all rooms are on the first or second floor. They are a pet friendly hotel.
