The Running Horses has an elegant restaurant, charismatic bar and a whiskey lounge. Step inside and you will find a cosy sense of tradition, with panelled walls, tartan floors, log fires and lavish oak furniture. Outside, there is a terrace with a fire pit, which is the perfect spot from which to enjoy al fresco drinks.
Their menus are created from the finest local produce, and sourced from the abundant natural larder on their doorstep. Their ethos is to serve “Simple Food Done Well”.
Their menus comprise of refined pub classics, steaks, interesting choices for guests with dietary requirements and delicious desserts. They also serve a fabulous Sunday roast and there are good options for children too.
Their food is accompanied by a somellier curated wine list, and their dog friendly bar serve an eclectic range of drinks and bar snacks, including their wonderful homemade sausage rolls.
The Running Horses has eight beautifully decorated en-suite bedrooms. Each room is named after a different racecourse and come with super comfy Hypnos beds, bathrooms with Bramley toiletries, luxurious rain showers, a Nespresso coffee macine and WiFi access.
Two of their rooms also have roll top baths, and dogs are welcome on request, with prior acknowledgement directly with the pub for a nominal additional fee.
Breakfast is a real treat, and sample menus can be viewed just above the food gallery.
The Running Horses are on the doorstep of the famous Box Hill, in the Surrey Hills, which makes them the ideal base for walkers and cyclists. Betchworth Park Golf Club is two miles away, whilst the beautiful grounds of Hampton Court Palace are also within easy reach.
They are within walking distance to Box Hill Train station and there is a bus route outside with regular journeys to Leatherhead and Dorking.
