The restaurant serves refined seasonal pub classics, local seafood, specials, sharing plates, sides, indulgent puddings, a Sunday roast, and good options for children, and guests with dietary requirements. Outside, their terrace has lovely views and is the perfect spot from which to enjoy al fresco drinking and dining in the warm sunshine.
The bar is well-stocked with award-winning St Austell flagship beers, limited edition brews, artisan spirits, an eclectic wine list, and interesting non-alcoholic choices.
The Rising Sun has 11 well-appointed en-suite bedrooms, many of which come with glorious coastal views. There is a choice of superior coastal suites, classic family rooms, classic coastal rooms, and classic rooms.
Each stylishly decorated room comes with a minibar, coffee machine, complimentary toiletries, hairdryer, and WiFi access.
Dogs are welcome on request, with prior acknowledgement directly with the pub in a few specially selected rooms at a nominal additional charge per dog, per night.

Due to their prominent position in St Mawes, the pub does not have a car park. There is a pay and display car park behind the pub and the closest EV charging points are a short drive away.
St Mawes Castle, one of the best-preserved of Henry VIII’s coastal artillery fortresses is right on the doorstep, and guests can hop aboard one of Cornwall’s most scenic water taxis, taking in an unrivalled vista of Falmouth’s historic harbour.
Towan Beach (not to be confused with its namesake beach in Newquay) is a glorious, secluded, dog friendly hidden gem near St Mawes.
