Their delicious menus take inspiration from their coastal surroundings and are created from the finest seasonal produce. Their menu has something for everyone and includes freshly prepared sandwiches, homemade soups, hearty pub classics, locally caught fish, indulgent desserts, and interesting choices for guests with dietary requirements. Their Sunday lunch comes with all the trimmings and huge Yorkshire puddings.
The main saloon bar and adjoining Cabin bar, both have oodles of character, are lit by stained glass windows and in winter by the welcoming glow of an open fire. The pub has lots of nautical heritage with a scrubbed wooden floor constructed from pine ship decking, and walls festooned with nautical artefacts.
Their well-stocked bars serve plenty of local ales, and their skilled team are extremely knowledgeable and help guests pair their dishes with appropriate drinks and fine wines. Outside, their beer garden has glorious harbour views, picnic benches, a conservatory, and an outdoor bar.
The Olde Ship has several accommodation options including 12 en-suite single, double, and twin rooms located on the first and second floors, a bungalow with stunning harbour views, and a cottage to the rear of the pub.
Each bedroom comes with fresh towels and linen, a Freeview TV, Northumberland luxury toiletries, an assortment of Ringtons coffees and biscuits and WiFi access.
Dogs are also welcome with prior acknowledgement directly with the pub in their bungalow and cottage, but not in their bedrooms.
Breakfast is a real treat and includes their cooked full Ship English or choices such as smoked salmon, crème fraiche on sourdough toast.
Seahouses is located about 12 miles north of Alnwick, within the Northumberland Coast, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The harbour is known as the gateway to The Farne Islands, where you can enjoy seeing puffins and grey seal colonies.
