The Kings Head won the ‘2023 Good Food Award for Delicious Dishes’ and came in bronze position at the ‘East of England Tourism Awards – Pub of The Year 2023’. The pub has held two AA rosettes for culinary excellence since 2014.
Their innovative menus are created from the very best local produce and comprise of an à la carte lunch and dinner menu. They serve refined dishes, pub classics, homemade sandwiches at lunchtime, seasonal specials, interesting choices for guests with dietary requirements, and a popular Sunday roast.
Their bar serves an extensive range of local real ales, lagers, artisan spirits, an eclectic wine list, mixers, and soft drinks. There is also a heated al fresco dining area where guests can enjoy delicious food and drinks on warm, sunny days or colder autumnal nights.
The Kings Head has six beautifully decorated en-suite bedrooms, some with delightful views overlooking the banks of Bawburgh Mill. Each room is named after people linked to the history of the pub and include a petite single room (Morgan’s) which is perfect for guests travelling alone, and a Junior Suite (Tilney) which has an additional Z bed suitable for a child under 12.
Each room comes with handmade beds, pocket sprung mattresses, soft as down hypoallergenic bedding with silk, complimentary toiletries, and WiFi access.
Whilst the pub does not have any dog-friendly bedrooms, dogs are welcomed in the bar.
In addition to their six bedrooms, they also have two opulently designed self-catering apartments which can be booked nightly, or for short or long stays. Apartment one is on the ground floor and sleeps up to six guests in three rooms, whilst apartment two sleeps four guests in two bedrooms. Both apartments are suitable for families.
Breakfast is a real treat and includes options such as a full English, homemade granola, berry compote and Greek yoghurt, or smoked salmon with scrambled eggs.
There is ample parking for guests staying overnight.
Please note the pub is closed on Mondays (except bank holidays).
The local countryside is a haven for walkers and nature enthusiasts, and the beautiful beaches at Cromer and Sheringham can be reached in about 45 minutes by car.
Norwich International Airport and Carrow Road football stadium are around ten miles away, and the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital and Spire Hospital are within proximity.
