Their Head Chef, has built a strong reputation for superb cuisine, freshly prepared with informal flair and generosity. This pub has been awarded two AA Rosettes for “culinary excellence” and they are delighted to also feature in the prestigious Michelin Guide. Their delicious menus change constantly, although “old favourites” like freshly battered fish and chips and slow braised shoulder of Welsh lamb are a constant. The Hand at Llanarmon ensure there is at least one vegetarian option and there is also a good selection of fish dishes.
All of their bedrooms are comfortable, well-equipped and warm. Four superior rooms including a suite are all situated in the old farmhouse part of the building, enjoying views over the original crossroads at the centre of the village. A further nine country rooms are situated in what used to be stables and barns at the back overlooking their field and the hillside beyond. Four of the country rooms are on the ground floor and two of these are wheelchair-accessible, with one also having a wet room adapted for wheelchair use. They also welcome dogs and have three dog-friendly rooms, charged at an additional nightly fee.
The Hand at Llanarmon also has a “Treatment Room” and new “Pump House Spa”. They have tastefully restored an old pumphouse into an amazing bespoke sauna and outdoor hot tub which overlooks stunning views of the Ceiriog Valley and their treatment room will leave you relaxed and uplifted.
Country lovers will just love the location of this gorgeous pub. You can walk in the Berwyns for hours with only the sheep for company and they can arrange many country pursuits, including horse riding, fishing and shooting. This gem of a country inn is so much a part of village life that locals and visitors mix in unaffected harmony.
