Step inside this cosy, Grade 11 listed pub situated on the border of West Berkshire and Gloucestershire, and you will find oodles of charm and character, cosy corners, timber beams and open fireplaces.
Their delicious menus are created from the finest, locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. All their food is homemade and includes refined pub classics, imaginative vegan and gluten free dishes and an exceptional Sunday lunch. On weekday lunchtimes, they serve a two or three course “Lunch for Less” menu, alongside their à la carte menu.
The pub has been shortlisted as finalists in the Oxfordshire Food Awards as “Best Gastro Pub of the Year” as voted for by their guests, and has been awarded four Gold stars for accommodation and two Rosettes for food from the AA.
Their well-stocked bar is surrounded by informal dining spaces, and they were recently awarded the accolade of “Pub of the Year” by the CAMRA White Horse Branch. They serve a well curated, rotating collection of real ales, both local and from the further reaches of the UK, a good selection of wines by the glass from their hand-picked wine list, a range of cocktails, and bottled beers including low alcohol options.
Outside, there is a delightful pub garden, which is the perfect place to enjoy sociable al fresco drinking on long summer days.
The Greyhound Inn has eight lovely en-suite bedrooms. Each room comes with luxurious beds and linen, handmade pocket sprung mattresses, a TV with Freeview, a Roberts radio, luxurious Bramley toiletries, tea & coffee making facilities with fresh milk, homemade biscuits, bottled water, a hairdryer and WiFi access.
Three of their bedrooms named Lambourn, Childrey and Uffington welcome dogs. Dog friendly stays are charged at a nominal additional fee per dog, per night and includes a bed, water bowl, treats, poo bag and towel for muddy paws.
They also accommodate children on request in two of their suites for a small extra charge per child up to 12 years old. The Lambourn suite can accommodate three children and the Oxford suite (which has a bath only) two children.
Breakfast is a real treat and includes a full English or freshly baked pastries, fresh fruit, granola and fruit compote, porridge, eggs any style and interesting options such as kedgeree, shakshuka and kippers.
There is ample parking for guests staying overnight.
Letcombe Regis sits on Letcombe Brook at the foot of the Berkshire Downs escarpment and is dominated by the historic St Andrew’s church.
The local area is a haven for walkers and cyclists; they sit on the King Alfred’s Way cycling route, and the Ridgeway National walking trail is less than a mile away. The city of Oxford can be reached in about forty minutes by car, and they are close to the White Horse at Uffington Trust monument.
