The Elephant’s steak restaurant is called The Herd, which serves delicious steaks, dry-aged for 30 days. Guests can also enjoy afternoon tea, served with their own modern take on this English favourite. (Pre-booking for afternoon tea required at least 48 hours in advance).
A more casual dining experience can be enjoyed in the Babar, an intimate dining den. Their lunchtime menu includes pub classics such as a Ploughman’s, homemade burgers, and meat-free options.
The bar is well stocked with craft gins, delicious cocktails, and a selection of beers and ales.
The bedrooms at the Elephant have been designed with comfort and tranquillity in mind. Each room comes with comfortable beds, Egyptian cotton sheets, goose down duvets, plush en-suite bathrooms, hospitality trays, a TV, iron and ironing board, and WiFi access.
There are good options for business guests requiring a single, twin, or double room.
Dog friendly rooms and bedrooms with extra beds for families are available to book, on request, directly with the Elephant.
There is limited on-site parking and two EV charging stations. There is ample pay and display parking available at the Station Road public car park next door.
There are over 85 walking trails in Reading and the surrounding areas which are popular with walkers, cyclists, and trail runners. Pangbourne train station is a short stroll away and trains into London take about 40 minutes.
