Their delicious menu is inspired by nature, and includes little nibbles, salads for summer days, pub classics, signature dishes, choices from the grill, yummy puddings and good options for guests with dietary requirements. Their Sunday lunch is extremely popular and they also cater well for children.
The well-stocked bar serves the finest Thwaites seasonal cask ales, an eclectic choice of fine wines, beers, ciders, cocktails, spirits and soft drinks. Outside, their two-tiered riverside terrace is the picture perfect spot from which to enjoy al fresco drinking, dining and socialising in the sunshine.
Their Standard, Character and Feature rooms have comfy beds, homely touches and a calm, relaxed atmosphere. Each room comes with an en-suite bathroom, a TV, fresh milk, shortbread biscuits, tea & coffee making facilities and WiFi access. A Cumbrian breakfast is served each morning.
Dogs are welcome on request, with prior acknowledgement directly with the inn, and there is one accessible room at ground floor level.
Visitors can choose to explore the panoramic local countryside by taking a boat from Pooley Bridge, leaving the boat at Howtown, and then walking to Glenridding and catching the boat back to Pooley Bridge.
