The building dates back some 850 years and is one of the most important architecturally and commercially in the centre of Saffron Walden.
They are fiercely proud of the fresh food they serve. All of their dishes are created and cooked on the premises and they use regional suppliers whenever possible to obtain the best raw materials. They don’t believe in doing fussy and complicated things with these delicious ingredients, but instead would rather they were complimented, treated with love and brought to the table just as they should be.
Molly’s coffee shop is a unique addition to The Cross Keys where they offer a wide range of mouth watering cheesecakes and also a fabulous selection of other rather naughty cakes, sweets and gelato! You can eat in and soak up the atmosphere or take away, if you are on the move! They serve coffee of all varieties, not to mention the many and various flavours of ‘Teapigs’ tea they have on offer.
Their 9 en-suite bedrooms have been thoughtfully and carefully designed with only the finest furniture and they believe the most comfortable beds to be found in Essex, where a good night’s sleep is something to be guaranteed. The Hungarian duck down toppers are supported by deep feather duvets and you will find ipod docks and Nespreso coffee machines in each room. The bedrooms provide all the luxuries of contemporary living. Crisp bed linen, hand-sprung mattresses, feather-down duvets, deep free standing baths or monsoon showers are as standard. All rates include breakfast and there is a £10 discount for single occupancy.
