This old country inn has many lovely features to enjoy, one of which is the working Queen Victoria Golden Jubilee Clock. Here at The Cross Keys they are committed to serving the best of local produce, coupled with a seasonal changing menu. The team create new dishes on a weekly basis, their pub classics are a permanent fixture.
They run a full menu throughout the week, excluding Sunday & Mondays. Alongside the full menu they run a lunch specials menu from Tuesday – Saturday 12-2pm. This menu has lighter option dishes staring from as low as £6. Friday night is steak night and on Sunday’s they serve a fantastic roast. They always serve 4 meats – topside of beef, lamb leg, pork belly & chicken breast along with a nut roast too. All roasts are complete with cauliflower cheese, seasonal vegetables, huge homemade Yorkshire puds & of course, proper gravy. Don’t worry if you don’t fancy a roast, they serve a selection of other dishes from the main menu too.
They have a well earned reputation for serving great real ales, Butcombe Ale is their ‘best bitter’ and a permanent fixture, The other two handles are weekly changing. Being in Somerset they appreciate how important cider is, they serve local cider along with premium bottles. The draught ciders are Ashton Press & Cheddar Valley. Alongside this they have a range of premium lagers, spirits, an extensive wine list and soft drinks.
The inn hosts 3 en-suite letting rooms – Green, Blue & Yellow. All rooms are complete with en-suite shower rooms, freeview TV, kettle & condiments tray, alarm clocks and lamps. All the rooms overlook the courtyard that leads out to the car park from which private access can be gained.
