The pub has recently been renovated and the original property was built in 1906, however a pub has been on the site since the early 1800’s. The bedroom names are taken from the various names the pub has been called over the last 200 years, The Sportsman 1828 to 1834, The Hare & Hounds 1834 to 1855, The Greyhound 1855 to 1895, The Station Hotel 1895 to 1906 and The Bowes hotel 1906 to present.
The pub boasts a well stocked bar offering a great selection of quality of real ales, premium lagers, wines, spirits and soft drinks. Enjoy a bite to eat at the restaurant where they specialise in local cuisine and serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. A children’s menu is also available.
The Bowes Hotel has six comfortable bedrooms all fitted with en-suite bathrooms. All the rooms feature complimentary toiletries, WiFi access, tea and coffee making facilities, smart TVs, USB charging ports, desk, hairdryer and fresh towels and linen. One of the rooms is a studio apartment which also includes a fridge, kitchenette and balcony. Enjoy the choice of breakfast in the morning where you can choose from a cooked option along with fruit juices, yoghurts, cereals and fresh fruit.
