The cosy restaurant at Old Vine serves delicious bistro-pub dishes, and is proud to showcase the best produce from the region under the auspices of Hampshire Fare. The bar is well-stocked with an interesting array of real ales, fine wines and no fewer than 14 gins (we’re not known as “Ginchester” for nothing …..)
The beautifully presented four star accommodation, offers a superior level of comfort in stylish yet warm and restful surroundings. Interior design experts Design House have created an elegant mix of antique and contemporary – finely crafted Georgian, Arts and Crafts, Victorian and Art Deco furniture sits alongside the sumptuous fabrics and wallpapers of designers Osborne and Little, Zimmer + Rohde, Nina Campbell, Zoffany and the Designers Guild (which, incidentally, our rooms are named after)
The inn offers three double bedrooms, one twin/double room, a luxurious top-floor suite with a superb view of Winchester cathedral, and a beautifully appointed self-contained apartment that’s perfect for families.
Come morning, freshly baked bread, free-range eggs, Hampshire sausage, juices, fresh fruit, tempting pastries and locally produced preserves are the ingredients for a wonderful breakfast taken either in your room or in the restaurant.
Old Vine is situated just across from the cathedral, and is perfectly located for the city centre, with its independent boutiques and restaurants. Winchester College, the university and historical sites such as Jane Austen’s house and the Great Hall are only a short walk away.
