Pubs Sign Up To Stay In A Pub

Sign up to stay in the pub:

With pubs paying large amounts of commission through websites such as Booking.com to take accommodation bookings such commission ranging from 15% to 20%. Pubs are taking advantage of the flat rate listing fee offered by Stay In a Pub. Which drives bookings directly to a pub’s website to make a room booking.

Because Fullers, Youngs and The Epicurean Collection inns are all recent converts and now SIAP will actively promote this offer to the other 1,600 pubs that are listed on the accommodation booking website.

SIAP, administered by Cask Marque and Paul Nunny believes that pub accommodation will be a third income stream for pubs after drink and food “Originally Stay In A Pub was a commission based proposition but now more and more pubs are happy to pay a flat fee currently of £100 +VAT per year to promote and advertise their pub with a direct link to their website. Therefore this means that customers contact the pub directly via the link to their website and their offers can be promoted to them and the pub pays no commission. The cost is recovered by the profit from just two bookings.”

However 17 pubs with rooms which are part of The Epicurean Collection have recently joined this scheme . “The flat rate listing fee offered by SIAP is a cost effective option to drive customers directly to the websites of our beautiful countryside pubs.”. Said Emma Daley, Senior Marketing Manager at The Epicurean Collection.

Because Stay in a Pub is also keen to develop the accommodation sector and challenge B&B’s. Recent success was receiving backing from Visit England. Therefore they now list accommodation on their website with a link to Stay in a Pub. Because Pam Foden, Head of Industry Development at Visit England said “With visiting an English pub being one of the Top Three things on an inbound tourist’s wish lists it makes sense to offer them the additional benefit of staying in a pub.”
