Cycling in London is an excellent way to see the amazing sights that London has to offer. Santander Cycles (also known as Boris bikes) have allowed Londoners and tourists to get around the city more easily. Cycling the city is a cheaper alternative to some other methods of transport, with hire rates starting from just £2.

There are hundreds of Santander bike stations dotted around London, which means that most areas of London are easily accessible by bike. With endless roads, parks and canals to choose from, it is difficult to find a worthwhile route. Luckily, Santander Cycles have put together a list of different cycle routes to suit different interests. For more information visit their website here.

If you’re a sporting fan, the London Sporting Sights route on the TFL website will be ideal for you. Passing the football stadiums of Fulham and Chelsea then moving along the River Thames where the famous University boat races are held. Finally the route will end with the chance to cycle along a section of the 2012 Olympic Road Race before culminating at The Oval cricket ground.

For those interested in escaping London’s busy streets, you may be interested in London Secret Garden’s cycle route. The route takes you through the scenic gardens of London, including Ladbroke Grove, Holland Park, Kyoto Gardens and Chelsea Physic Garden. To find out more information about cycling around London we recommend visiting Transport for London (TFL) or downloading the Santander Cycles App.

It is recommended that all cyclists wear the proper safety equipment due to the fast paced London lifestyle.
