The Horse & Groom was established in 1584 and embraces the spirit of a traditional Cotswolds pub, with character in abundance such as flagstone floors and toasty log burners.
Their delicious menus use the finest, local and seasonal ingredients some of which come from their own kitchen garden and they cater very well for guests with dietary requirements. They minimize waste too so use the bones of their fish and meat to create tasty stocks and soups, whilst their garden and terrace is the perfect spot from which to enjoy al fresco drinking and dining when the sun is shining.
There are seven spacious, cosy and inviting double and twin en-suite bedrooms to choose from, each decorated beautifully in a traditional, cottage country style. Some of their rooms have exposed brickwork, whilst others retain the original twisted beams from their historic past.
Each bedroom comes with super comfortable beds, fresh cotton linen, fluffy towels, a TV, Nespresso coffee machine, a radio and WiFi access, whilst there is also a cosy private lounge with a log burner for guests to relax and unwind in.
Their two dog friendly bedrooms (one double & one twin) are located in their cottage, around ten yards from the pub and can be booked with prior acknowledgement.
They have ample parking and there is even an in-house shop which serves homegrown food and freshly baked bread.
Wychwood Golf Club is close by, whilst the spa town of Cheltenham is around 20 miles from the pub.
