The Weeping Willow is a beautifully restored, 16th century country pub located in the village of Barrow, a few miles west of Bury St Edmunds. The pub has seven newly built lodges, each of which embraces the breathtaking nature on their doorstep. Their luxurious lodges are the picture-perfect destination for families, couples, friends, or dog friendly stays, and two also have wood fired hot tubs.

What time can I check in and check out?

Guests are able to check-in anytime from 3 pm onwards. Standard check-out time is anytime before 11 am. 

Can I bring my dog with me?

Yes, dogs are welcome in all areas of the pub. For an overnight stay book the pub’s Muddy Paws Package for an additional cost. This package includes in-room treats, a toy to take home, use of a dog bed, doggy towels, and water bowls throughout your stay. 

Does the pub have any family rooms?

The pub offers “Best Family Lodges” featuring a king-size bed and built-in bunk beds, accommodating up to five guests. The bathrooms include a walk-in rainfall shower and complimentary Bramley products. One of these lodges is accessible-friendly and includes a parking bay by the lodge. 

Does the pub serve breakfast?

Yes, breakfast is included when you book your room. 

Do I need to book a table for dinner or lunch ahead of my stay?

Yes, the pub always recommends making a reservation to guarantee yourself a table, reservations can be made via their website or by giving them a call on 01284 771881. 

Are there accessible facilities?

The pub is accessible, including an accessible disabled toilet. However, please note due to the nature of the historic property, not all spaces are accessible. The pub can accommodate you with an accessible table and the disabled toilet is fully accessible. The pub has two semi-accessible rooms; however, they are not fully accessible, and all showers have a lip on the entrance. 

Does the pub have a private room that could be used for a meeting or conference?

Yes, the pub offers a relaxed space for breakfast meetings, working lunches, and larger business occasions. The pub’s private dining area can seat up to 12 guests, depending on the table layout. Corporate guests also have access to our 55-inch HD smart TV, which connects to laptops via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or cable. Get in touch here.

Bury St. Edmunds Train Station is a 15 minute drive away form the pub.  

Is parking available at the pub?

Yes, parking is available at the front of the property as well as around the back. 

Can I charge my electric car at the pub?

The nearest EV charging point is at UKPN Services, a 10 minute drive away from the pub.

Are there any good walking routes in the area?

Yes, there are lots of picturesque walks around the pub. Enjoy walking around Lackford Lakes Nature Reserve, Nowton Park, or explore the Willow Wander walking route.

Are there any golf courses local to the pub?

Yes, you can visit Suffolk Golf Club and play a round of golf. The course is a 15 minute drive from The Weeping Willow.
