Visit Snowdonia to enjoy one of the UK’s most popular places to visit for walking holidays. It is home to the region’s biggest mountain in Wales and England, Snowdon (3,560ft) and the Llyn Peninsula which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

If you aren’t sure where to go on your next holiday, but want to escape the hustle and bustle of reality then a trip to Snowdonia is a must. With a landscape made up of beautiful sandy beaches, magnificent peaks and mountains as well as the countryside, there is an abundance of outdoor activities on offer in the region.

Whilst Mount Snowdon is the most popular destination for walking, there are other great walking routes in the area.  The Wales Coast Path is a continuous 870 mile around the whole of Wales and passes through Snowdonia’s Llyn Peninsula, Menai and Meirionydd.  If you are with the family then perhaps head to Bala which as well as offering trails for experienced walkers, has a variety of routes suitable for children and families.

Of course, it’s not all about walking when you visit Snowdonia. Another thing to do is head out onto the water! There are plenty of lakes to try out watersports including Llyn Tegid Bala which is Wales’s largest natural lake and a haven for sailors, canoeists and windsurfers.
