The Black Horse Hotel is a characterful 17th-century coaching inn surrounded by the magnificent landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Dating to around 1650, the building wears its history proudly, from its wonderfully uneven floors to cosy communal spaces and a welcoming bar warmed by a real fire. There are 15 en-suite bedrooms to choose from, many looking towards Grassington Square or across the Yorkshire Dales. Location is one of the pub’s greatest strengths. Step outside and you are moments from Grassington’s cobbled village square, independent shops and cafés, with beautiful Wharfedale walks beginning nearby. Fans of All Creatures Great and Small may recognise their surroundings too.

Seasonal dishes sit alongside familiar comforting favourites. Sunday lunch keeps things reassuringly traditional, and overnight guests can look forward to a freshly cooked breakfast each morning. The historic bar provides a relaxed setting for drinks, with real ales taking their place alongside a wider selection. A real fire adds to the atmosphere during the colder months.
