Built in the 14th Century to cater for the builders working on St. Mary’s church up the road, The Rose & Crown has been looking after thirsty drinkers for around 700 years! The Rose & Crown is still a village local drinking pub at heart. They take great pride in their ales, which include Adnams, Woodforde’s Wherry, London Pride plus a regularly changing guest ale.
The inn has an excellent wine list put together by an independent wine merchant, and offer a large number of wines by the glass. On a sunny day there is no better place to enjoy a jug of Pimm’s with friends than in the lovely walled garden.
The same delicious menu is served throughout the pub. The menu changes regularly and they also offer daily specials. As far as possible all the ingredients are sourced locally, making full use of the wonderful produce of the area in season: mussels, oysters and samphire from Brancaster, asparagus and strawberries from local farmers, herbs from the allotments of Snettisham and game from the gentlemen in wellies in the back bar!
The 16 bedrooms are stylishly and individually decorated in seaside colours, with top quality beds, crisp white linen, comfortable chairs, a television, radio, tea and coffee making facilities, books and magazines, as well as their own guide to the area. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with fluffy white towels and Molton Brown toiletries.
