The All England Jumping Course at Hickstead in West Sussex is regarded as one of the premier equestrian venues in the world. First opened in 1960 by Douglas Bunn, the showground continues to be run by the Bunn family and in 2020 it celebrated its 60th birthday.

Nearly 100,000 spectators flock to Hickstead annually to watch equestrian stars compete in showjumping, showing, polo, arena eventing and driving. International highlights include the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup of Great Britain, the Longines BHS King George V Gold Cup, the Science Supplements Speed Derby and the famous Al Shira’aa Derby.

With more than 200 stands in the Charles Owen Shopping Village, there is plenty to tempt visitors away from the thrilling equestrian action. As well as stands selling equestrian tack and clothing, you can browse some of the country’s leading country fashion brands or check out the fabulous range of footwear, gifts and homeware on offer.

Children are in for a treat too, whether they’re pony mad or not. Visit the new Family Fun Zone to enjoy the funfair or be entertained by local star Tomfoolery.
For foodies, Hickstead has plenty to tantalise and tempt your taste buds. Explore some of the local delicacies in our Food Hall, check out the myriad of stands selling delicious street food, or bring your own picnic and find the perfect ringside spot to enjoy the glorious British countryside.
