This atmospheric old pub still retains its open fires, wood burning stoves and wooden floors and is the perfect place to stay, unwind and relax after a day walking, cycling or enjoying the many delights of Hampshire.
They have an excellent reputation for delicious locally sourced food and popular local real ales from the Bowman Brewery in Wallops Wood. They serve a daily and specials menu in both their restaurant or bar area. They do allow dogs in the bar, but not in the restaurant or in their bedrooms.
They have recently renovated their Grade II listed stables and coach house and turned them into accommodation to give you a fantastic offering of “luxury in the country”.Their accommodation consists of two double rooms with king size beds, and one family room/suite. All of their bedrooms are well appointed and offer a high standard of decoration with luxury fabrics, en-suite bathrooms, flat screen televisions, a hairdryer, ironing facilities and a refreshment tray.
For breakfast guests are offered a choice of cereals, fresh fruit and yoghurt, followed by a choice of either a full English breakfast, or two lighter options including a vegetarian choice. If you still have room there is also toast and preserves and an endless supply of tea and coffee.
The White Lion has nearby links to the M27 and M3 and is also the perfect base to visit Portsmouth. The major port of Southampton is the closest city to the New Forest and Winchester, England`s ancient capital are within a 30 minute drive.
