The Westleton Crown is a dog and family friendly country inn set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Taking pride of place on the edge of Westleton village green, a short drive from Dunwich, it is the sort of place where muddy boots are set by the door, and long lunches roll easily into the evening. Their bedrooms are the perfect base for exploring RSPB Minsmere, Dunwich Heath and the sweeping beaches of the Suffolk Heritage Coast. Newly refurbished, the interiors are inspired by the wildlife and landscape that wraps itself around the pub.

Telegraph Travel wrote: “A popular, 12th-century coaching inn in a peaceful village with a large, dog-friendly collection of unfussy rooms, some in separate annexes, within a 10-minute drive of the coast. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed; book a stay for old world character, with cosy fires in the winter and outdoor dining in the summer.”
Food & Drink
Food at The Westleton Crown is rooted in seasonal Suffolk produce, with menus that celebrate local ingredients and classic British flavours. Expect well-prepared pub favourites alongside daily specials, all served in relaxed, welcoming surroundings. Breakfast offers a generous start to the day, from hearty cooked options to lighter choices before heading out to the coast or countryside. The bar serves local ales, a broad wine list and a range of spirits, making it a convivial spot for a pre-dinner drink or evening nightcap. The landscaped terraces also provide abundant al fresco drinking and dining spots. As a popular destination for both visitors and locals, booking ahead is advisable, particularly at weekends and during peak holiday periods.
