The Swan Hotel dates back to 1759 and this grade II listed Georgian building retains much of the same charm it had at the end of the 18th century. The pub is filled with throwback nods to its history and even the original inn sign is displayed in the hotel’s restaurant.
The traditional menu makes them one of the finest pubs in Arundel. From their full English breakfast with local sausages and fair-trade espresso, to the classic fish and chips, the expert kitchen team cook up a storm using only the freshest and best local ingredients.
The Swan Hotel is also renowned for outstanding cask conditioned ale, as well as craft lager, cider, spirit, artisan soft drinks and their exclusive wines.
The traditional country pub boasts a range of 14 ensuite rooms, each individually decorated but with a riverside theme. Guests can choose from cosy rooms, comfy rooms and the pub’s lovely Indulgence rooms. Each room has flat screen TVs, fine Egyptian linen and free WiFi, while a hearty breakfast is also included as standard. Selected rooms are dog friendly and similarly, some rooms can be made up with an extra bed for families and larger groups.
Although only a quiet village, Arundel has plenty to explore and boasts the second-highest number of listed buildings in the UK. It also lies just outside the borders of South Downs National Park and Arundel Castle is a short walk away. Goodwood Estate, home of the Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival, is also only a 20-minute drive.
This pub is part of Fuller’s who focus on creating inns that are more than just a place to rest your head. Whether staying in one of their historic London locations or enjoying a quiet countryside retreat, their mission is to provide comfort, character and individual charm wherever you choose to stay.
