This characterful coastal pub has 17 individually designed boutique bedrooms, split between the main inn and a converted sail loft in the nearby Quay House. The Seagate feels very much like the pub at the heart of a fishing village should. Seasonal ingredients, fresh fish dishes and pub classics feature prominently, Sunday means generous roasts, and the bar pours Young’s Original alongside locally brewed Old Appledore from Country Life Brewery. And then there is North Devon itself. Walk straight out into Appledore’s winding streets, follow the coast towards Westward Ho!, explore Northam Burrows or head for some of the spectacular beaches and coastal scenery further afield.
