The Running Horses stands on Old London Road, at the centre of pretty Mickleham village. Opposite, is the ancient church of St Michael, which is mentioned in the Domesday book. They’re surrounded by history and they have a few fascinating tales of their own to tell.
The pub’s menu focuses on traditional, rustic British food. The kitchen is open serving lunch and dinner using local and seasonal ingredients where possible. When the warmer weather hits they offer delicious treats fresh from the BBQ. Food can be enjoyed in the former restaurant area of the pub, but since the makeover, they like to think of it as an extension of the bar now. There is also a new bar menu too, which changes daily, offering a quick bite to eat or snack throughout the day. They’ve carefully selected the bar range to ensure wide variety combining high quality, to suit all tastes. They have spirits, beers and wines from all over the world.
They boast five wonderfully comfy en-suite rooms and the Gatehouse. All of which comes with: freshly prepared English or continental breakfast in the morning, as standard, a double bed boasting a Hypnos mattress and Feather & Black bed frame that promise a relaxing night’s sleep, luxurious en-suite bathroom with Temple Spa toiletries, free WiFi and a Nespresso coffee machine with a selection of hot drinks, to wake you up first thing in the morning, as well as still and sparkling water.
