The Riverside is a fabulous gastro pub set in the pretty, peaceful village of Aymestrey. Authentic and atmospheric, this 16th century black and white building is surrounded by the natural beauty of the River Lugg valley and picturesque Herefordshire countryside.
Their bar and restaurant has a traditional style with log fires, candles, hops, oak beams, bricks and stone. Their bar has two double sided wood burning stoves with sofas and soft seating, and they serve an interesting wine list, hand pulled real ales and local ciders. They have designated “dog tables” in the bar should you wish to bring your four legged friend to dine with you.
Everything at The Riverside is homemade, such as their bread, ice creams and fudge with sustainability and ethical sourcing core to everything they do. They are very flexible and accommodating to guest dietary requirements.
There is also a terrace garden with riverside views which is the perfect spot for al fresco drinking and dining.
There are four traditional bedrooms within the main 16th Century building, two external suites with original 400 year beams and feature stone walls and three quirky Garden Lodges situated at the top of their terrace garden.
All of their nine en-suite bedrooms have feather and down duvets with crisp white linen, fluffy towels, a TV, complimentary toiletries, WiFi access, a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities with homemade treats. Dogs are welcome, with prior acknowledgement.
They are located on the A4110 and about seven miles from Leominster.
