Guests of The Olde Peculiar can enjoy delicious homemade food in a traditional and welcoming setting. Try their homemade traditional pies including steak & kidney and beef & mushroom. They also have a selection of fish dishes such as sizzling king prawns in garlic and chilli, poached smoked haddock and fillet of salmon with lemon and dill sauce. They also cater for vegetarians and have a wide variety of choice such as roasted vegetable and Wensleydale bake and creamy broccoli and potato bake.
On the bar they serve three regular and two guest ales, all approved by Cask Marque for their quality, as well as lagers, cider, a range of spirits and soft drinks. Their wines are carefully selected by the supplier to give a varied range to suit most palates.
The Olde Peculiar offers a comfortable family room and two twin rooms. All rooms have en-suite shower rooms and include tea and coffee making facilities and are non-smoking. The family room consists of a general lounge area where the settee can double up as a sofa-bed, bathroom with shower, double bedroom and a separate single bedroom. Access to this room is only available via stairs but both twin rooms are accessible from the ground floor. There’s also the option to enjoy a full English breakfast in the morning.
