Built in 1637 this historic pub has oodles of charm and character. Step inside and you will find a warm and welcoming atmosphere, friendly locals, wooden floors, open fires and exposed stone work.
Their illustrious regulars from the past have included the likes of Sir Winston Churchill, who would drop in when staying at his birthplace, the nearby Blenheim Palace.
Eating at The Killingworth is a real treat and their talented kitchen team capitalises on local organic produce. They are one of only a handful of pubs in the UK to be certified 3 stars organic by the Soil Association.
Their considered menus feature delicious pub classics, and the bar serves a wonderful range of craft ales including choices from their very own highly regarded Yubberton Brewing Co.
Their eight luxurious king en-suite bedrooms are situated in the adjoining stable block. Each room comes with handmade wooden beds, comfy chairs, an eclectic range of books, tea and coffee, homemade brownies, eco toiletries and a small decanter of sherry.
Dogs are welcome on request and prior acknowledgement in two of their bedrooms for a nominal additional fee. They also have a large car park with electric vehicle charging points.
The Killingworth is located on a quiet road with Oxford about half an hour away, and Woodstock (and Blenheim Palace) about three miles to the south.
