This lovingly restored 15th-century coaching inn sits in the Berkshire village of Aldermaston, surrounded by countryside yet conveniently placed for Reading, Newbury, and Basingstoke. The Hind’s Head has retained the personality you would hope to find in a centuries-old coaching inn while adding the thoughtful comforts that make a country break feel properly relaxing. Bedrooms feature 1600-spring mattresses and plump pillows, en-suite bathrooms, a TV, and tea & coffee-making facilities. Double or twin configurations are available, making the inn suitable for couples, friends and individual travellers. Well-behaved dogs can stay in selected bedrooms, with prior acknowledgement and extra beds for children are also bookable on request – additional charges apply.

Food at the Hind’s Head celebrates fresh, seasonal British produce. Menus change with the seasons, giving regular visitors something new to discover while keeping plenty of pub classics firmly in place. Expect Lemonade fish & chips, seasonal fish dishes, comforting classics, daily specials and gourmet bar snacks. Sundays bring the traditional roast into focus. There is just as much reason to spend time at the bar. Fuller’s cask-conditioned ales are a speciality, including the brewery’s famous London Pride, alongside a broader selection of beers and ciders.
