The Golden Lion is a historic 17th century coaching inn with bundles of character, who serve award winning Black Country ales from Holden’s Brewery. Their bar serves an eclectic choice which includes Thatcher’s Ciders, Holden’s Seven Lager, San Miguel, Angelo Poretti and Guinness.
Their kitchen team prepare good, honest home cooked food, with freshly prepared pub meals, sandwiches, cobs, and hot snacks on the menu. In the morning they serve a selection of cereals, pastries and fruit alongside a hearty full English. Packed lunches or grab bags are also available upon request.
This pub offers modern boutique accommodation with a twist. Their five bedrooms have been individually designed by local talented artists and each room boasts flat screen TVs, luxurious king size beds with crisp white linen, sparkling en-suites with power showers, luxurious toiletries and pod coffee machines. Each room also comes with its very own dedicated parking space to the rear of the pub.
The town of Bridgnorth was once one of the busiest river ports in Europe and guests are within walking distance to everything Bridgnorth has to offer. The river divides the town into High Town and Low Town, the two being linked by the Bridgnorth Cliff Railway. Nearby is The Severn Valley Railway, Britain’s premier steam railway with 16 miles of glorious Shropshire countryside and restored stations to explore.
