The George has a history dating back to 1397 and is one of Britain’s oldest taverns.
They serve classic pub food with a twist, with their delicious menus inspired by the seasons and focusing on fresh, local ingredients. Their Sunday roast is very popular, their menus include good choices for those guests with dietary requirements and they also have a dedicated children’s menu.
Their bar offers a selection of award winning beer, real ale and cider from their very own Butcombe Brewery, and their menus and daily specials also feature their very own ales like their Butcombe Gold beer battered fish and chips. They also serve an eclectic range of wines and cocktails and the beautiful beer garden has wonderful views across the surrounding countryside.
The George has 13 en-suite bedrooms which ooze personality and charm and include twin, double, king and four poster options. Each bedroom comes with complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities, a TV, writing desk, hairdryer and WiFi access.
