The Durham Ox is a historic, family owned, award winning pub with exposed beams and roaring log fires.
They embrace the principle of good food in relaxed surroundings and always endeavour to use the freshest and best locally sourced ingredients. Their delicious menus celebrate the seasons, they bake their own bread and petit fours and are renowned for their fabulous desserts and cocktails.
They have five gorgeous converted farm cottages that provide a peaceful and charming place to stay alongside a converted Studio Suite situated above the pub and a self catering, dog friendly cottage which accommodates six guests comfortably.
All of their bedrooms are generous, comfortable relaxed spaces which offer country style chic in a rural setting. Each bedroom has a television, tea and coffee tray, hair dryer, individually controlled heating, L’Occitane toiletries and doors that open out onto an outside terrace.
They are situated in the historic village of Crayke, with breathtaking views over the vale of York on three sides and a charming view up the hill to the medieval Church. Crayke is less than 25 minutes from York City Centre and is in the heart of Herriot Country.
